Why limiting my upload bandwidth kills my download speed?

Some of you may already know why... but not all of you ...

So let's explain it the simple way...


When you download something your application don't simply download it by itself using some dark magic ....

When you download a file your application has to ask other application if they can send you a part of it...
By doing this you need to use your upload bandwidth to ask him to send you and use your download bandwidth... so if it takes 3minutes to ask to download, you'll download 3 minutes later ....

That's why it's BAD to limit upload speed with a third party application


That's why you need no upload :D lol

thats a strange expansion to me. cus upload well kill your download bandwidth as well.

im more interested in the taking without given stories.

btw what are those Sponsor ads doing in here

What this means is, exactly what you meant:
If you have a maximum of 60kb/s upload, you should limit you upload in azureus to 50kb/s. This gives the programme more overhead bandwidth to initiate transfers, and talk to trackers.
If it doesnt have this overhead, negotiation with other peers will take long, and download speeds will drop.

i have tested Azureus and i can say when i compare it to bitcomet or utorrent - Azureus is less selfish than other clients.
i think like that becouse limiting speed in azureus is making my download speed slower it looks like this program shouldnt be limited in upload too much becouse it may affect your download speed.

i dont care about the download speed really. what i care for is the time i lose for downloading a file so why should i limit my max upload when the download speed depends on it.

so it means download speed depends on upload speed, upload well slow your download... if you keep this prossec the chance to download at max speed is none with this kind of programs.

Well how can you explain that I always download at my max speed? and I never upload anything...

Well me too, I always download at my max speed and I never upload anything. How can u explain that Depechemode? huh?

I'll tell u wat, it's simply the magic of the Shu mod. :D
No other client is better at this than Azureus.

but if you use your full bandwidth for upload, then you won't have any upload left for the protocol msg to be sent
